You want beaches? The Emerald Coast of Florida has arguably the best beaches in the world! Miles of snow-white quartz sand, deposited by the Appalachian Mountains, make our beaches legendary. The sand doesn't get hot underneath your toes-not even in 95-degree temperatures-and it's so soft and clean that it squeaks under your feet. You'll want to spend days or a lifetime on our beaches!
The Emerald Coast also offers a large variety of other recreation options. Our fishing choices include something for anglers of every kind (beginner to expert). Walton and Okaloosa Counties also host more than 20 golf courses, so you work on perfecting your swing any day of the year. Or you can relax on your deck with a pair of binoculars as you enjoy our world-class bird watching. You can also get out and try cycling, jogging and of course shopping.
Want to stay in the water a little while longer? You can enjoy scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, and parasailing along the shore.
The Emerald Coast also has fantastic State Parks, including the 2,228-acre Grayton Beach State Park, ranked as one of the most beautiful parks in the country. You can also check out Point Washington State Forest or the Emerald Coast Science Center to learn more about Florida wildlife and plants.
